The holiday region around the Wilder Kaiser mountain range is known as one of the most famous cross-country skiing regions within Tyrol. Here, you can enjoy the marvelous mountain view on more than 74 km of slopes - either in skating or classic cross-country skiing style.
A famous cross-country skiing run at Itter's sunny plateau with a total length of 9,7 km. The entrace can be found at the town's centre (Dorfplatz), right across the elementary school, and the cross-country skiing trail runs towards the sports grounds (on open terrain) and back towards the Lindweg. After you have crossed the street the run leads on (via an open field) towards the Maurerwies- and Mittererwies lifts up to the Grünholzbach and past the Salvitabahn up to the Denggenhof, where the cross-country skiing run leads back into the town.
If it is your first time on cross-country skies, you will have an easy start at the cross-country skiing centre Angerberg/Mariastein. Every Tuesday (6.30 pm) our guests can take part in a training lesson with sports experts from the cross-country skiing club Angerberg.
You can use the 3,5 km long night run in Angerberg. This trail is open and illuminated daily from dawn to 9.30 pm.
